Helping you to grow beyond survival and burnout to come home to your body and mind...
Helping you to grow beyond survival and burnout to come home to your body and mind...
Having worked in a range of different worlds with a variety of people, the one thing that matters most when walking alongside people in their growth and wellbeing is the power of the relationship. You need to feel connected, accepted, cared for and safe.
At Raw Psychology Clinic, we focus on creating this for you first. When you meet with Tania she will spend time understanding and hearing your story. You won't get bombarded with questions but rather curiosity.
The "Raw" part of the Raw Psychology Clinic comes from the power of vulnerability where we often find our most authentic selves. This takes time to be able to sit in. Tania makes a promise to clients to be her authentic professional self, who she is in session with you, will be similar to who she is with anyone she meets, in order to model authenticity.
At Raw Psychology Clinic, we are knowledgable in the impact of all components of health on mental wellbeing. Tania has done additional study in nutrition and body based interventions. Person-centred means that you will receive care that is aligned with your values. Tania will adapt to your needs, as opposed to expected you to fit her approach.
We do not use a "one size fits all" approach and instead use a eclectic and integrative approach, utilising techniques from different interventions where needed. You will not get generic CBT at Raw Psychology Clinic.
Tania has more than twelve years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults. Areas of interest include trauma (developmental, complex & PTSD), and how this impacts neurobiology, behaviour and personality. More recently, her interests have shifted towards understanding the links between nutrition, exercise, hormones and mental health challenges. Tania views mental health as holistic in nature, thus not looking at mental health symptoms in isolation but rather conceptualising the person’s health and wellbeing as a whole (i.e. inclusive of physical health). Tania has a specific focus on supporting adult females with neurodiversity/ADHD and, birth trauma, perinatal wellbeing and hormonal related disorders such as PMDD.
Tania supports clients with self development, self-esteem, C-PTSD, Developmental Trauma, ADHD, PMDD (PMS, Endometriosis and autoimmune conditions), Eating Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, OCD and Autism operating within a client centred, recovery oriented framework that builds capacity, fosters empowerment and instils hope. Tania has a genuine curiosity in hearing people’s stories and how they view the world. She focuses on the importance of building a safe therapeutic environment where clients can work towards personal growth and self-efficacy. A range of evidence-based interventions are adopted in therapy including Schema Therapy, EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills, psychoeducation, relaxation, breathwork and mindfulness training.
Tania also provides clinical supervision and professional coaching for mental health professionals.
Tania currently volunteer as a member of the Mental Health Advisory Council for Safe Watch. An App that has the aim of creating the village approach to wellbeing and suicide prevention. Tania continues to work virtually with Mamabase Illawarra in supporting mothers, specifically those with trauma histories, birth trauma and ADHD.
In her spare time, Tania is often immersed in the chaos of motherhood (she has two little ones), at the beach (being in water), exercising (yoga & pilates) or relaxing by shopping, being creative or reading.
Erin is a warm and approachable mother to three children on the Central Coast. She has a wealth of experience in the science and microbiology space, working in forensics for a season of her life. More recently, Erin has completed almost 4 years of study in Psychology and is currently in her 4th Year, with plans to complete the 5 + 1 Pathway next year. Erin is an active member of the community, volunteering for the P&C at her children's school as well as managing 3 kiddies at home!
Erin has lived experience in late diagnosis of ADHD and PMDD. Her capacity to understand, empathise and support those in her network is a true strength of hers. Her values and lived experience is truly aligned with the purpose and meaning of what Raw Psychology Clinic upholds.
Erin will be your go to person for booking sessions, answering questions, collaborating on our resources, assisting in our membership gathering and info sessions and attending speaking events as part of the Raw Psychology Clinic Team!
We are a neuro-affirming clinic, where you will always be welcome and accepted in all your seasons and authenticity. Tania has worked with neurodivergence for 12 years+ and has her own lived experience as an ADHDer herself (see bio).
Tania has been supporting parents for 10+ years. She has lived experience in birth trauma, perinatal anxiety and depression and parenting with neurodivergence. Tania adopts a biolpsychosocial approach, with the space being a meaningful part of your village (especially if you struggle to have one). Tania provides EMDR treatment to assist with birth trauma. Tania focuses less of parenting approaches and more on holding the parent and growing through all your versions and seasons.
ADHD assessments are holistic in nature, Tania looks at all elements of mental wellbeing and health. She completes extra screening and will ensure you receive an individualised report that is not generic, with recommendations and information that is helpful to you in your daily life.
Tania is a ANZEAD Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician. She has met the standard of expereince, supervision and additional training to be credentialed. Tania is FBT (Family Base Treatment) trained but has a preference for CBT-E and EMDR for emerging eating disorders. FBT is more beneficial at severe levels.
Tania focuses on the role of female hormones and how they are linked to wellbeing. Tania has lived expereince and has supported clients with PMDD, PMS, menopause and endometriosis.
Supports are collaborative and multidisciplinary with a focus on understanding your wellbeing as a whole, rather than symptoms in isolation.
Tania has been working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma for 12+ years. She has provided consulting and training services to NGO's working in this space, regarding trauma-informed care. She has worked with most forms of trauma and can hold your story, in a way where you feel safe and accepted. Tania has worked with veterans and their families, emergency services workers, those with childhood trauma, workplace related trauma (including workplace bullying), physical/medical trauma's and domestic and family violence.
Support that allows you to learn the necessary skills of regulation. Not everyone can meditate and that is absolutely okay. It is about finding what works for you, with no complicated techniques.
EMDR is the gold standard treatment approach for the treatment of trauma related disorders such as PTSD. Tania specialises in EMDR for Birth Trauma. However, EMDR is evidence based in the treatment of other mental health conditions.
Schema Therapy is an integrative therapy that draws on cognitive (thought/believe based) techniques, parts theories and trauma processing. At it's core it is a therapy that focuses on the impacts of unmet needs throughout one's life and how this manifests through thoughts, feelings and behaviours now.
CBT-E utilises the CBT approach of understanding the interactions between your thoughts, feelings and subsequent behaviours, with a specific focus on how these are strengthening the eating disorder. Externalising approaches allow for detachment from the eating disorder. CBT approaches do not work for everyone and many are highly correlated with relational trauma, therefore, trauma approaches such as EMDR can also be effective.
At the Raw Psychology Clinic, we utilise the skills components of DBT that are highly aligned with impacts of trauma and areas of difficulty for those with personality disorders such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). The skills focus on mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. The skills can be useful for anyone.
ACT is a values driven intervention that adopts mindfulness, defusion (instead of challenging thoughts and believes, we create space and detachment from these), acceptance and committed action. It is an approach that can be helpful for a range of difficulties such as anxiety, body-image, depression, pain and OCD.
